Sculptural papermaking and vessels have been integral to my work. For me, books are another form of a vessel. They are receptacles to visually address personal musings and reflections on my life and personal relationships. Traditionally, the reader holds a book, slowing turning pages as the plot is revealed. These sculptural books are developed from this same principle, although they are intended to be read visually rather than verbally. Words and images merge and vanish to suggest meditative contemplation and journals produced over protracted periods of time.
